frequently asked questions

End User or Vehicle Owner Question

Are your Converters Direct Fit Converters?

Yes. They are designed to be direct replacements of the OE part. Please be aware that some vehicles previously serviced by muffler shops or installers using non OE replacements may need some modifications.

What are your Direct Fit Converters made of?

Our Converter bodies are stainless steel and all piping is high-grade aluminized steel. Occasionally we will use the same cast iron or stamped steel heads or outlets that the OE suppliers use.

Do your parts come with Gaskets?

Yes, more than 90% of our Direct Fit Converters ship with gaskets if needed.

What do I do if I did not receive gaskets that showed available with the part online?

Please contact your vendor and let them know of the missing parts. Please check your shipment carefully because sometimes gaskets are already attached the flanges with shrinkwrap.

Do you make Converters for California Emissions vehicles?
YES. Please confirm that your vehicle conforms to California Emissions indicated on the vehicles emissions ID tag in the engine compartment and specify which state the vehicle is registered in.
What if I don't see the part I need on your website?
Please contact your Distributor about Davico’s First to Market Prototype service where we can take your OE Converter and replace it in a matter of days with a new one at a fraction of the cost of going back to the dealer.
Where can I obtain pricing?

Warranty Cards

Per EPA rules all of our Direct Fit Converters ship with a warranty card. If your part was installed by a professional installer he must supply you with this card to register your warranty. If you purchased your part online it is your responsibility to complete the card and follow the instructions to activate the warranty.

Do you honor labor claims?

No, labor claims are not part of our program.

Installation Tip #1
Always use new gaskets and hardware if needed. Never use RTV sealers.
Installation Tip #2
Always test fit your part to determine proper fit and system adjustment. Do not compare parts side by side to determine proper fit.
Installation Tip #3
Always resolve the cause of the OE parts failure before replacing the Converter. Not resolving common engine management issues will cause early failures of the replacement part.
Installation Tip #4
Always decarbonize vehicles with over 80,000 miles and when replacing a failed Converter.
Installation Tip #5
Always check for unmetered air leaks anywhere in the exhaust system. Please remember that even a pin hole sized leak can cause an early failure.
